TAICHUNG, TAIWAN
Taichung, where Tunghai University is located, is the third largest city in Taiwan, an island located about 100 miles
off the coast of Mainland China between Japan and Hong Kong, bordering the Taiwan
Strait. The city is an important educational center for Taiwan.
The eastern half of the Greater Taichung area features river valleys, forests and mountains, including the snow-capped Mt. Jade. The western half is covered with plains, basins, terraces and miles of beautiful seashore.
The city itself has placed a major emphasis on maintaining a clean environment by building parks, planting trees and constructing sewer and waste treatment plants.
