Freshman Orientation & Registration

June 9, 10, 12, 13

WELCOME TO MILLIKIN
Freshman Orientation & Registration (O&R) is the first step in your first-year experience at Millikin. So choose any one day and register online or by returning the reservation form, advising sheet and (optional) family photo form. Check out the student and parent schedules for specific O&R details.

Orientation & Registration is a requirement for students entering Millikin in Fall 2008. Parents are also encouraged to attend.

WHAT YOU'LL DO

Create your fall schedule.
You will work with an academic advisor to choose courses and register for your first semester at Millikin. At the end of the day, you will take your finalized schedule home with you.

Pick up your housing assignment.
All students who have turned in their $150 advance tuition deposit and completed a housing application will receive their housing assignments.

Get computer training.
You will learn about Millikin’s computer system and see how you can access your email, pay bills, register for classes and more.

Smile for the camera.
ID photos will be taken, as well as keepsake family photos for you to take home. If you’re a Millikin legacy, you’ll also have your photo taken for publication in the Millikin Quarterly magazine.

Get questions answered.
An Information Fair in the morning will allow face-to-face time with a variety of departments. Parents can also meet one-on-one with Student Service Center representatives about financial aid or billing questions throughout the day.
WHO YOU'LL MEET

An Academic Advisor
He or she will walk you through your course options and help you determine what classes will be best for you to take.

Upperclassmen Mentors
First-Year Experience Mentors—current upperclassmen students—will be present throughout day to answer your questions about Millikin and guide you around campus.

Your Classmates
Mingle with fellow first-years in the quad at the end of the day during the Millikin/Community Fair.
